15th June Spiral canyon camp at Yobbo's (Barcoo Swamp) Saturday night, decamp Sunday morning. At this stage only 2 participants - self and Rod Smith. Have EPIRB, first aid kits, maps, GPS and compasses. (and know how to use them!) Trip report and photos forthcoming upon completion of trip. (thanks for submitting your trip notes Timmy)

Hey no worries Julie, hope you enjoy it. Expect a longish bushwalk with a small bit of canyon, gee I wonder if I've hyped it up too much! Interested to hear back about the middle abseils. I was unable to describe them well in the guidebook, my memory's a little hazy. One of them was just a slippery dirt slope down to creek level, you might find another route around... Timmy

Time to visit some old favourites and take one or two new companions who haven't been there before this Sunday 10th Aug. Penrose gully is a great little diversion on the way into Tigersnake, then will downclimb/chimney our way through Tigersnake except for the 2 compulsory abseils. Might go the dark way through the 2nd constriction if my companions aren't afraid to get wet up to the rudder! Should be home and hosed by dark.

Today's trip has been postponed until next Saturday. The fella I was taking got his hockey match days confused and had to play today. Would have been an interesting trip through in the snow too! Always wanted to do a canyon in the snow, but not sure that the highway was open this morning anyway. We actually had snow settle briefly in Bathurst this morning so it would have been much heavier around Yetholme and Mt Lambie.

I'm escaping from my cage and heading over to New Zealand on 18th March to climb Mt Aspiring, then head back to Wanaka for some rock climbing, kayaking, canyoning (Leaping Burn canyon if the water isn't too high otherwise Big Nige). Then down to Queenstown for the 134m Nevis bungee (complete with blood-curdling scream), then Via Ferrata (the only one in the southern hemisphere) and white water sledging to finish.
If I'm not back, don't look for me - just means I'm having too much fun (or too drunk) to return!

My upcoming trip to NZ just got a whole lot better with an invitation from Chucky to come and do some canyoning with him for a couple of days while he's in Wanaka. It's going to be awesome! The camera's already packed.

hey Shane, Timmy, (and anyone else interested)
I have this Thursday off and would like to go and get cold and wet in Dione Dell. Are either of you up for it? I would do the canyon down the wet and more exciting route. Any takers? Plan to camp out Wednesday night if there are any starters.

My proposed trip will not be going ahead due to no participants. Julie

Hoping to do Oronga next Thursday 11th. Been a while since I did this. The big abseil would have to have one of the most awkward starts ever. Are you free Timmy?

Instead of doing Oronga tomorrow (11th), Rod Smith and I are going to try and cram Penrose Gully, TigerSnake Canyon and Windows Canyon (in that order) into the one day. I reckon we can do it! With a top temp of only 7 degrees forecast, there won't be much time wasted just hanging around!

Yeah I've done various doubles with those three, and the two of you should fly through. Sorry for the late reply and for not being able to make it - work(aholic), urgh! Timmy
