Does anyone have ideas for good dayhikes around Brisbane (or in greater SEQ or northern NSW area) where you can bring dogs?? I'd also be keen to get together for bushwalks with other people and their dogs!
Thanks.

Hey that is a good idea Cheesy exercise and socialisation for both dog and owner!  I wonder if there are clubs that cater for this sort of thing (I'de guess so?)

One of the first things I thought while browsing through this site was 'I wonder if I could take my dog with me on a days walk in a National Park?'  It didn't occur to me to get a group of people (with dogs) together for an adventure - the dogs would be in heaven...

I found out that in NSW anyway, dogs are not permitted in National Parks as research has shown that wildlife avoid the trails that dogs have been through - and this spoils the trails for others.  However, some State Parks have very long trails that dogs are permitted in if cleaned up after and kept under control at all times..

Great topic lqlqlq! Definitely a subject we should pick up in the guide too...

I think we've just found your topic Rusty Wink

I expect state forests will allow dogs. As Rus said, National Parks are off limits, so you just need to find crown land, state forests, and private property where the owners allow people on to their property (not that uncommon).

I don't personally know anything from that region, but hopefully we will find someone who does.
