Where did everyone go? So many people introducing themselves and saying hi, then disappearing!
I guess there isn't much interesting conversation yet, but it is hard to have interesting conversation without people to converse with!
Maybe I should just talk to myself for a while, eventually people will join in. A bit like fight club.
A few hints actually, for those of you who are new to forums - use the 'Notification' tab to register for emails everytime someone replies to a thread you are interested in, or an entire board you are interested in.

OK, cool. Glad to have you around Kelly We've been getting more visitors than ever before over the past couple of days, but they are all from Stumble Upon, so most of them are international visitors and they don't go past the first page they land on. Anyway, hopefully all of this new traffic will include a handful of new Australians who will join up and will be able to help out with questions (like your WA caving question!).

Here I am! Nice site, I've been thinking about starting a wiki based guidebook thing for a while, looks like you beat me to it! I'll get adding some stuff soon, hope this thing gets some momentum, will be a great resource if it gets going.

Hi Krungle, Seems there were a few people thinking of making a site like this, you aren't the first to mention it. Luckily you've got me to do all the hard work and the worrying for you now But hey, think of it as your own. If you have good ideas for the wiki, go ahead and try them out, my ideas for organisation and writing aren't the only way to do it, so please try out different methods and stuff if you have any.

Perhaps the rainy weather (in Sydney) has been postponing everyone's trips? But now the sun is out so get out there and have an adventure! (and then write it up! )

Hey Rus, I'll have to get you along on one of our trips sometime then hey? Do you have any of your own equipment? Camping stuff, hiking stuff, climbing or canyoning stuff?

That would be great Shane, i'm up for the challenge.. Unfortunately I don't have any equiptment currently (& restricted on what I can afford) - But I think it will be a good goal for me to invest bit by bit. Being outdoors in nature is so good for the body & mind - many of us (including myself) get so distracted that we don't spend enough time getting out there and appreciating it all.
I would like to try many things including canyoning, caving, rock climbing - I have not had experience abseiling and assume it would be a good idea have some beginners training and/or start of on a lower grade with people who are experienced and have done it before!?!
Is there a section on this site describing what typical equiptment and supplies would be required for say: canyoning (involving abseiling), and what to look for when purchasing the equiptment??
Thanks, Rus!

Not yet, but I do have every intention of putting something like that up! All part of the bigger plan!

Hey, Still around will be doing bangalore again next week weather permitting, so should be able to finish of the guide when I get back up to brisbane. If not I'll be playing around at goolang creek, so maybe a guide for some paddling.

LOL Oxy, Hi.
What sort of experience do you have so far? And where are you actually from? This weekend UNSWOC is camping up at Mount Wilson, if you wanted to you could join up and come along with them. Otherwise, we might have a spare spot some time in the future...

Hey Aegist
My Canyoning experience is The Upper Williams river in Barrington tops once and also Claustral once. I've done caving in Wee Jasper and bungonia.
Plenty on M'Biking.....24hr races.....and social....
Snowboarding, regular indoor climbing and outdoor when I can.....
Hiking......Beginner play in the NZ Alps (nice)
Grew up in the dreaded/loved 'Shire' in a house that backed on to Heathcote National Park overlooking a huge valley with no sign of civilisation, hence homework took a distant back seat and my days were spent wandering the bush.....
Really glad I stumbled on this site as Canyoning really made a huge impact on me and it has been frustrating not being able to get a fix.
I can't do this weekends trip as much as I would love but I shall keep a keen eye trained on this site .......
Thanks so much for the work involved in setting this site up.....Cam
