Left HITW car park 1005. MTBs to HITW entry point. No problems at all.  At exit point on the big bend 1305, back at car 1435. Eastern Boundary Road is no problem for any 4WD vehicle.
Glow worms extra good.  Bungleboori north much easier with less water flow.
Took 2 1/2 hours to get home to Kurrajong because of biodiesel / fuel filter problems but thats another story. Steve

Saturday 16th Feb 08
Luna Park canyon 2nd attempt.  Last time we were delayed by thick scrub in Scatters Canyon and ran out of time. It was early spring.
Meet at Zig Zag 0830.  HITW car park 0930. Bicycles to Bubble Bath track 10.30. Hailstorm Retreat to Bungleboori South. Upstream then uphill then Luna Park. Back to Hailstorm and out to cars by about 1500.  Apple Bar at Bilpin (of course).  Home by 1730.  SARWATCH TIME = darkness (~8pm)

Luna Park trip was successful but took much longer than planned. I was back at HITW car park by 1800 but had to wait for stragglers.
Two of us (me included) got our fingers jammed under ropes at Luna Park first abseil due to the long anchor tape stretching a bit as it is loaded. Result: two bruised and abraded pinky fingers but thankfully nothing else.
Overall I couldn't honestly recommend this canyon unless you specifically wanted extra exercise.  There are just as good canyons requiring a lot less effort.

I'm starting to find that a bit myself - so many canyons which are simply more difficult to get to for very little reward compared to the much easier canyons to access. This is one of the reasons I have come to disagree with people who think canyons should be kept secret (not published). If a canyon is easy to get to, people will do it regardless of whether it is published or not - while if it is hard to get to, people won't do it regardless of whether it is published or not.

G'day Shane.
Have to agree with you about canyon secrecy.
Those with good contacts (say old SUBW members for example) have access to knowledge that is simply not available to Joe Average. They are generally unwilling to share this knowledge except with a select few.  It would take years for an individual to search these places out without help.
I had a few rebukes when I enquired about Midwinter Canyon some years ago but eventually got good information (Thanks Dave N ) Of course MW is nowadays a relatively well known canyon. I had no luck with locations of some lesser known Coorongooba/Numietta sites. (The one with animal bones??)
BTW, we did Greenup canyon on our MW trip. It was a bit like Breakfast Creek at Newnes plateau but drier. Well worth it if you do a Greenup/Midwinter circuit. Steve

A lot of last minute pikers, only 3 on this trip. Departed from CP 0930.  Twister all good. Water cold.  Brief episode of "hydraulic trap" on the 3rd cascade in Rocky Creek (the washing machine?).  Lucky I was standing there expecting it to happen.
Platypus Porthole was located and filmed. Easy exit via gully to track north of Galah Mt. At cars 1400.  By then the car park was full.  Glad we didn't have to queue up.
