I've just come back from the Barrington River where there is some small grade 1 and 2 white water (a couple of grade 3 sections too). What other rivers are around that are accessible and good for white water kayaking?

The Mitta Mitta in North East Victoria.  I've only done it once and that was after rafting the 121km Franklin in Tassie for 10 days and was pleasantly surprised. You can do 2 days or one, one half or whole of the river depending on the water level.  If your ever in Mt Beauty near Falls Creek, Ian Arbuckle, Outdoor Pursuits knows all about it.
